water-logged

this weekend i'm babysitting for my cousin's kids, all three at once for two and a half days.  here we are, right in the middle, and they are all quiet and sleeping in their own beds.  until around 1:30 or so, when dusty and layna will wake up and ask to sleep with me in the big bed.  how can i say no?

today we skipped the zoo (too cold and wet from yesterday...and i let them all sleep in as late as they would) and went to the library instead, where we found a bunch of books on water (?), dinosaurs, a few fred gwynne books and some dvds - escape to witch mountain and a complete season of fraggle rock.

___

of course, as i typed that, the baby woke up screaming and i had to abandon blogging to help him fall back asleep...and myself as well.

this morning it's been a lot of "please eat, layna" and "gage, no-no, don't throw your food on the floor" and "why are you mad, dusty?"  we're on the second movie of the day, since the baby is busy trying to sleep playing and screaming in his crib, and i'd like it to be as quiet as possible for a peaceful nap.  i'm off duty tonight, i think right around bedtime.

last night, crab legs for dinner (on sale, cheap!), and 70% of gage's lunch on the floor for the cat.

mmmm...cracb legs...do cats eat food from the floor?

hey adam! yeah, maybe add something to round out the menu and make it healthier...parsley and mint for garnish?

jamie - cats eat from the floor when it's turkey and noodles. he didn't much care for the tomatoes or broccoli.
